DNB Counselling 2025 is administered by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, an independent organization under the Indian government’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The DNB-PDCET is the ranking exam for admission to several Post Diploma DNB courses. NBEMS offers Post Diploma DNB courses in 14 general specialization subjects.

Important Note – DNB Mop-up Round Counselling 2025
Counseling will be conducted in accordance with the standards outlined in the Handbook for Admission to DNB Post Diploma Counselling – 2025 Admission Session and the eligibility requirements listed in the Notice for DNBPDCET 2025 Admission Session.
Candidates will only be permitted to attend counseling under the aforementioned conditions if their applications (Rounds 1-2) are determined to be valid for counseling seat allocation during the first and second rounds of counseling for Post PDCET.
Applicants who received a seat in a prior session are required to:
- have given up their seat, or
- have chosen to give up the seat, or
- have made the course payment when they reported, or
- have not left the designated institution after paying the initial course price, or
- have not canceled their admission to any seat during the first and second rounds, nor have they transferred after receiving the allotment notice or reporting to the institute after paying the course cost.
Only those applicants who adhere to the aforementioned counseling guidelines will be permitted to take part in the Post Diploma counseling.
A candidate will not be permitted to take part in the subsequent counseling round if, under any circumstances, they have given up or shifted their seat after reporting for the first or second round.
Eligibility Criteria For DNB Counselling 2025
- According to the DNB PDCET 2025 Information Bulletin, candidates must obtain a Post Graduate Diploma Medical Qualification Pass Certificate or a Provisional Pass Certificate in a qualifying feeder specialty for the relevant DNB (Post Diploma) course.
- By January 31, 2025, at the latest, the candidate must have earned a Post Graduate Diploma in the relevant feeder specialization.
- In accordance with the terms of the NMC Act 2019 and the Indian Medical Council Act 1956, which has been abolished by the Government of India, the Post Graduate Diploma Medical Qualification in the eligible feeder specialty must be recognized;
- A Permanent Registration Certificate of MBBS qualification is required of the candidate.
- The candidate must have taken the 2025 DNB PDCET.
- For the full time required for the course they have already enrolled in, candidates who are already enrolled in a post-graduate study (MD, MS, DNB, or PG Diploma) are not allowed to enroll in DNB (Post Diploma) courses. This will apply regardless of whether they resign or leave the course for whatever reason.
- The counseling for admission to the DNB (Post Diploma)-2025 Admission Session is not open to candidates who have earned a Post Graduate Diploma Medical Qualification after January 31, 2025. Candidates who have earned a postgraduate diploma after January 31, 2025, will have their applications for admission to the DNB (Post Diploma) 2025 Admission Session immediately rejected.
DNB Counselling Process 2025
Candidates must register with NBEMS via the official website (https://counseling.nbe.edu.in) and complete the seating preferences during the registration process in order to participate in the DNB Post Diploma 2025 admission session counseling. A candidate will not be permitted to take part in the counseling procedure if they do not register for the session.
Only one registration will be made by candidates at the beginning of the counseling procedure. After the registration window closes or during any further counseling rounds, no new registrations are accepted. The online counseling via the aforementioned website is the only way to participate in the DNB counselling for the DNB Post Diploma admission 2025.
During the online counseling registration process, candidates must pay the non-refundable counseling fee of Rs. 2500 (payment gateway fees will apply). DNB PDCET 2025 Seat Allotment Process
As specified by the candidate throughout the registration/choice-filling procedure, the seats will be assigned based on merit and preference in the DNB counselling.
The candidate must accept and freeze the seat in order to join, and they must pay the non-refundable first year course fees of Rs. 1,25,000 (payment gateway fees will apply) within the allowed time frame. The candidate will not be eligible for any additional rounds of counseling after paying the first year course cost, and the seat assigned to them will be FROZEN in their favor.
The seat allotment letter must be downloaded from the NBEMS website by the candidate who has FROZEN the seat and paid the first year course fee.
Required Documents for DNB Counselling 2025
The list of required documents to be uploaded when registration for the first round of DNB counselling is as follows:
- Applicants must have MBBS degree for DNB counselling.
- Medical Postgraduate Diploma Qualification For the relevant DNB (Post Diploma) degree, a pass certificate or provisional pass certificate in a qualified feeder specialty is required.
- A certificate of permanent registration for the MBBS degree issued by the MCI or State Medical Council.
- Proof of passing the postgraduate diploma final exam by no later than January 31, 2025.
- An NMC website screenshot attests to the Post Graduate Diploma Medical Qualification’s recognition under the 2019 NMC Act and the defunct Indian Medical Council Act of 1956.
- Proof of date of birth in the form of a matriculation, high school, or higher secondary certificate.
- If appropriate, a certificate from a qualified authority for SC, ST, PWD, OBC, or EWS. A competent authority must issue a caste certificate. The Central Government list and the sub-caste should match.
- A legitimate identity document containing a photograph issued by the government.
- Any further pertinent documents or certificates, like a relieving order or NOC, etc.
Admission and Joining of DNB PDCET 2025
- After obtaining a seat and paying the first-year course fee, the candidate must get their allotment letter from the NBEMS website (http://counseling.nbe.edu.in).
- Each candidate will have a specific amount of time from the date the allocation letter is issued to report to and begin working at the designated NBEMS-accredited medical college, institution, or hospital.
- The candidate must verify their original documents and meet the requirements for admission to the DNB (Post Diploma) course as stated in the DNB PDCET-2025 Information Bulletin and this page for DNB admission 2025 session before they may join.
- Within the allotted time, the candidate must start their DNB PDCET course. When a candidate joins, the NBEMS-accredited institution must update the candidate’s JOINING STATUS on the NBEMS online portal (http://counseling.nbe.edu.in).
- The allocation will be definitive and firm. Under no circumstances is it allowed to transfer from one institute or college to another. After the allocation procedure is over, the NBEMS will not consider requests for the same.
- The DNB PDCET-2025 merit is only good for admission to the 2025 entrance session of the DNB (Post Diploma) program. Under no circumstances will the outcome be carried over to the following session.
- A candidate’s medical suitability as determined by the authorized hospital or institution must be considered before they can be admitted to an NBEMS-approved institution through Centralized Merit Based Counseling.
- The Medical Board of the relevant NBEMS-accredited institution will conduct the candidate’s medical examination. Only candidates who pass the medical exam will be permitted to enroll in the DNB (Post Diploma) program.

A letter of release must be submitted to the designated institution by candidates who are employed by any organization. Only after submitting the aforementioned relieving letter will their joining be taken into consideration. A “Relieving Letter” from the employer or institution is necessary to be presented in order to enroll in the DNB (Post Diploma) course, even though the “No Objection Certificate” can be submitted during the counseling process. Only with NBEMS’s consent may the joining date be extended in order to get a “Relieving Letter” from the employer or institution. Only after the date of relieving may the candidate join the company.
