PG Ayurveda Admission 2024 for MD/MS Courses might be conducted on the third week of September, 2024. Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree in BAMS (Ayurveda), may participate in All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET). This exam is organized by NTA on behalf of Ministry of AYUSH with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
There are approx. 15 specialized branches in PG Ayurveda such as Panchakarma, Shalya Tantra etc. To get enrolled in PG Ayurveda courses, aspirants need to qualify Ayurveda PG entrance exam 2024 called AIAPGET.
AIAPGET is a single entrance examination namely ‘All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test for PG ayurveda admission to Postgraduate AYUSH Courses. All India and State quota seats for admission to MD/MS/PG DIPLOMA Courses in Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy system of medicine for all AYUSH Colleges, Institutions & Universities/ Deemed Universities across the country. No other AYUSH Colleges, Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities shall be conducting any separate entrance exam for admission to AYUSH MD / MS / PG DIPLOMA Courses .
The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM Act, 2020) established as a statutory entity by a 21.09.2020 Gazette notification extraordinary Part (ii) Section 3(ii).
An Act to Create a Medical Education System that Improves Access to Quality and Affordable Medical Education, Ensures the Availability of Adequate and High Quality Indian System of Medicine Medical Professionals in All Parts of the Country, Promotes Equality and Universal Healthcare, Encourages Community Health Perspective, Makes Services of Such Medical Professionals Accessible and Affordable to All Citizens, Promotes National Health Goals.
It facilitates the maintenance of an Indian System of Medicine medical registration for India and upholds high ethical standards in all facets of medical care. It is adaptable to meet changing needs and has a successful grievance redressal procedure for issues related to or incidental to it.
The NCISM Act 2020 governs the administration of a standardized Post-Graduate National Entrance Test for PG ayurveda admission to postgraduate programs in each branch of the Indian System of Medicine (Ayurveda, Unani, and Siddha) (Ref. Clause 16 of NCISM Act 2020).
Candidates in possession of BAMS/ or Provisional BAMS Pass Certificate recognized as per the provisions of the IMCC 1970/HCC 1973 Act and possess permanent or provisional registration certificate of BAMS qualification issued by the CCIM/State Board/Universities/Deemed Universities and have completed one year of internship or/are likely to complete the internship as per the CCIM/AYUSH notification, may apply for AIAPGET (PG-AYUSH).
Requests for appearing in AIAPGET (PG-AYUSH) from candidates completing internship after the notified date or having qualifications that are not recognized by the competent authority shall be summarily rejected. Candidates are further advised not to canvass for the same.
The dates indicated by candidates in regard to 12 months Compulsory Rotating Internship i.e. starting date, completion date, shall be treated as final and candidates will be required to submit the original Compulsory Rotating Internship completion certificate at the time of counselling.
The cut-off date for completion of internship towards determination of eligibility for appearing in AIAPGET (PG-AYUSH) shall be 31st October.
Some of the Universities/Institutions with regulations that candidates who are already pursuing any PG Course in their University or in another University are not eligible for admission till they complete the course. The candidates who are already pursuing PG Courses either through All India Quota or State Quota and are applying for a seat under All India Quota/State quota seats may confirm the eligibility conditions of that University in this regard. NTA/MOA/AIIA shall not be responsible if such candidates are refused admission. Such candidates may opt for the subject and the college at their own risk and cost. The eligibility criteria will be as per CCIM/CCH regulations and notifications of Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India.
For All India States/Union Territories Quota Seats and Private AYUSH Colleges/ Institutes/ Universities/Deemed Universities.
Reservation policy and guidelines applicable in All India different States / Union Territories of India will be followed for their respective All India / State /Union territory quota seats.
Each owner of the seat whether All India or State Quota or Private Universities or Institutions shall continue to prepare their merit list based on applicable Regulation and/or their eligibility criteria.
AIIA/MoA shall be providing only the data of candidates and their results without applying the reservation prevalent in the All India States/Union territories of India/ Private AYUSH Colleges/Institutes/Universities/ Deemed Universities. The merit list/category wise merit list for the All India States/UT/ Private AYUSH Colleges/Institutes/Universities/ Deemed Universities concerned shall be generated by the AACCC/ States/UT/Universities/Institutions/ Deemed Universities themselves as per applicable Regulation and/or their qualifying criteria, applicable guidelines and reservation policies.
The counselling process of state level will be carried out by the State/UT/AYUSH/University counselling authority in order to offer the PG Ayurveda admission 2024.
On the other side, the AYUSH Admission Central Counselling Committee will provide counselling for central quota seats (AACCC). Seats will be assigned to candidates for various colleges during counselling based on their ranking, preferences, and other factors. At the time of reporting to the center, candidates must also provide all necessary documents for the document verification round.
Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, New Delhi, arranges online counselling for the allocation of 15% All India Quota Seats for Undergraduate (BAMS/BUMS/BSMS/BHMS) and Postgraduate (MD/MS) Programs at Government- and Government-Aided Ayurvedic, Siddha, Unani, and Homoeopathic Colleges, Deemed Universities (100%), Central Universities.

Doctor of Medicine in Ayurveda or Ayurveda Vachaspati is the three-year master’s course in the Indian medical system of Ayurveda. PG Ayurveda is offered in many ayurvedic Govt & Pvt medical colleges in India . The selection to the PG Ayurveda admission is generally done by a competitive written entrance examination AIAPGET & All India Counselling done by AACCC /State Authority.

Candidates can enroll in a Ph.D. program to enter the research sector after completing their PG Ayurveda program. A research-based course will enable the individual to earn a PhD and gain additional knowledge in the relevant sector.
