Homeopathy provides efficient medical care with no adverse effects. Homeopathic medicine is a system of alternative medicine in which diseases are treated with little doses of natural substances that, in big quantities, would cause the disease’s symptoms.
The course is set up to emphasize in-house training rather than lectures. This is done through the inclusion of activities like conferences, group discussions, and journal clubs. It also calls for the submission of a written thesis or dissertation with deviant commentary on the student’s area of specialization. More than 200 million individuals use homeopathy regularly throughout the world. Homeopathy is used in more than 80 nations.
Numerous universities and colleges across India are providing the three-year post-graduate degree in homeopathy known as MD (Homeopathy). The Central Council of Homeopathy regulates the programme. In India, 38 colleges offer both undergraduate and graduate degrees in homeopathy, while two prestigious PG colleges also offer MD programs in the subject.
There are seven specializations for PG homeopathy admission: Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Homoeopathic Materia Medica, Repertory, Practice of Medicine, and Organon of Medicine with Homeopathic Philosophy. The candidate must have passed the Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery course in order to be admitted to the MD (Homeopathy) program.
There are 2,24,279 homeopathic doctors in India, 7856 of whom work in government dispensaries and 207 of whom work in government hospitals that offer homeopathic care. In India, there are 43 postgraduate and 195 undergraduate homeopathic colleges.
PG Homeopathy or MD Homeopathy Course is divided into two part:
Each student accepted for an PG in homeopathy must complete a one-year service requirement. During this time, the student is required to visit the college’s OPD and IPD and conduct various patient examinations. Each student is required to provide clinical instruction to interns and U.G. students.
The Central Council of Homoeopathy in New Delhi requires that the students attend P.G. seminars and conferences. Each student must choose a topic for his dissertation during the first three months of MD/PG Homeopathy Part I and then create a summary under the supervision of the guide assigned to him, which is subsequently submitted to the Concern authority for approval.
Each PG Homeopathy student is required to prepare a dissertation under the supervision of a designated guide. The dissertation is then submitted to the appropriate authority and serves as the foundation for the student’s final MD/PG Homeopathy Practical Viva Voce.
The Ministry of AYUSH in the Indian government oversees the National Commission for Homoeopathy, formerly known as the Central Council of Homoeopathy. The Government of India established the Central Council of Homoeopathy in 1973. The Homoeopathy Central Council Act, 1973 was revoked and the Central Council of Homoeopathy was replaced on July 5, 2021, the same day the National Commission for Homoeopathy was established.
